Peppermint Essential Oil’s energizing and comforting fragrance is reputed to boost levels of concentration and mental focus. Peppermint essential oil’s piercing mint-like scent is especially invigorating to the senses when diffused. Peppermint oil can help to enhance relaxation, concentration, memory, energy and wakefulness. It can center perception to foster better mindfulness of the present moment, which can slip during moments of exhaustion.

When diluted in relaxing baths, Peppermint essential oil is known to relieve mental fatigue and coughs. It also helps to boost circulation and release the feeling of having tired feet, cramps and spasms.

When applied topically and accompanied by gentle massage therapy, Peppermint essential oil’s cooling and calming effects have beneficial effects on tired or sore muscles while supporting blood circulation. It can be added to homemade moisturizers to achieve the same benefits. Historically, it has been used to reduce itchiness and the discomfort of inflammation, headaches, and joint pains. It can also be used to relieve the sting of sunburns. 

Well-known for its anti-microbial and anti-fungal qualities, a few drops of Peppermint essential oil can be added to homemade spray cleaners and spritzed on areas that are particularly in need of anti-bacterial care, such as bathrooms and kitchens. Peppermint makes an effective and natural deterrent for house pests and insects.

Direction of Use

Aromatherapy
  • Add 4-5 drops to 100 mL of water in a diffuser
  • Add 4-5 drops to a steaming bowl of hot water and lean over it to inhale the aromatic vapors 
  • Add 15-20 drops to relaxing bath

Topical
  • Add 15-20 drops to 30 mL (1 fl.oz) of carrier oil (coconut/ jojoba /olive oil) to make a 3% solution

  • Quality comes with a price. Always choose PURE and high quality essential oils to get full benefits of an essential oil and to avoid harmful chemicals.

  • For aromatherapy use, make sure that the space you’re in is well ventilated.
  • Keep the oil away from your eyes and store the oil out of reach of children and pets.
  • Always dilute the essential oil in a carrier oil for massage and topical applications to avoid damage to the outer layer of your skin.
  • Do a patch test before applying anything to larger areas of your skin to check if your body is allergic to the product or not. If you see redness or irritation after 24 hours, stop using the mixture. Keep in mind that some essential oils may itself induce allergic contact dermatitis in some people. It is also possible for an infant to be allergic to some essential oils.
  • This essential oil is not suitable for oral application.
  • Essential oils aren’t a replacement for prescription treatments from your doctor, but they can work as a great complement to your regular health and wellness routine.
